PVD Products has just been awarded a contract from NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center for a custom electron beam evaporation unit. This system will deposit pure and highly uniform molybdenum films onto eight 100-mm diameter wafers in one run. PVD Products is happy to announce that it has received a Purchase Order from the University of Delaware for three physical vapor deposition tools. These tools include two electron beam evaporation systems, both with GLADS type substrate holders, and a magnetron sputtering system with a high temperature heater, RF bias, and multiple deposition locations all within one chamber. These customized deposition systems will all be delivered to the University in Q3 of 2015 when their new nanofabrication facility, currently under construction, is complete.

PVD Products has received an order today for a production Reel-to-Reel Coated-Conductor tool. This multi-chamber deposition system will be used for the growth of amorphous and epitaxial oxide layers typically deposited onto Hasteloy metal tapes, 10 or 12-mm wide and 1-km long, prior to the deposition of the ReBCO materials.

PVD Products completes installation of MAPLE System with three Polymer/Solvent targets, 2” wafer holder, Er:YAG laser, and loadlock at the customer site. The dual wafer loadlock of this system is integrated with a customer supplied glove box for easy insertion and removal of polymer samples into a dry atmosphere.

PVD Products customer Dr. Tonio Buonassisi from MIT was a guest speaker on NPR. PVD Products has recently booked an order from the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering in China for an UHV MAPLE System.

Today PVD Products booked an order for a Nano PLD System from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology in Tsukba. Japan. This is the 2nd PLD system we have sold to AIST. The first tool they purchased 12 years ago was a PLD-5000 system and is still fully functional.
