PVD Products Ships 9,000 kg of Unique Thin Film Vacuum Deposition Equipment

April 15th: Today PVD Products shipped 9,000 kg of unique thin film vacuum deposition equipment. This system includes four vacuum chambers with reel to reel transport, two large electron beam evaporation sources, two RF ion sources, and a high temperature substrate heater. All this built to deposit epitaxial buffer layers on 12 mm wide metal tape 1 km long in just 8 hours. This is the largest tool PVD has built to date! We just hope it fits on the plane!

March 15th: PVD Products has just received an order from Princeton University for a unique large-area Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation/Resonant IR PLE deposition system. This system will include a multiple targets, a tunable IR Laser with ns pulse lengths, loadlock, and handle substrates 3" x 3" Square. It will be used for the deposition of various polymer thin films.

PVD Awarded NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Contract

PVD Products has just been awarded a contract from NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center for a custom electron beam evaporation unit. This system will deposit pure and highly uniform molybdenum films onto eight 100-mm diameter wafers in one run. University of Delaware Purchases Three Physical Vapor Deposition Tools

PVD Products is happy to announce that it has received a Purchase Order from the University of Delaware for three physical vapor deposition tools. These tools include two electron beam evaporation systems, both with GLADS type substrate holders, and a magnetron sputtering system with a high temperature heater, RF bias, and multiple deposition locations all within one chamber. These customized deposition systems will all be delivered to the University in Q3 of 2015 when their new nanofabrication facility, currently under construction, is complete.

PVD Products has received an order today for a production Reel-to-Reel Coated-Conductor tool. This multi-chamber deposition system will be used for the growth of amorphous and epitaxial oxide layers typically deposited onto Hasteloy metal tapes, 10 or 12-mm wide and 1-km long, prior to the deposition of the ReBCO materials.
